For HUMANOID, sustainability is not a choice, but a given necessity. Since its founding in 1981, the brand has been built on the principle of creating fashion more consciously. A long history that comes with its own responsibility: working consciously with materials and processes to make sustainable choices for today and the future.

CHERISHED FOR DECADES, NOT SEASONS
Every choice HUMANOID makes is a conscious one. We design timeless silhouettes, free from trends and made to be worn for years. With careful attention to form, material and construction, we create pieces that grow stronger over time.True luxury, to us, is clothing that lasts — physically and emotionally — becoming a lasting part of everyday life.

HIGH QUALITY FABRICS
At HUMANOID, materials come first. We select fabrics that retain their character, remain comfortable and have the lowest possible impact. Each material is carefully tested to ensure our clothing lasts and stays beautiful. For us, clothing that lasts is the foundation of responsibility.
We work with consciously chosen fabrics such as organic cotton, TENCEL™ and leather, selected for their origin, composition and craftsmanship. We produce close to home, guided by craftsmanship, ethics and certifications that reinforce our commitment to responsibility, using precisely the amount of fabric needed to avoid excess. Buying less, but better.
By focusing on timelessness and quality, we extend the life cycle of every design, so our clothing can be worn for decades, not seasons.

Why HUMANOID chooses leather
We choose leather thoughtfully for its quality, versatility and durability. We are aware of the conversations around its use and carefully source from European suppliers and LWG Gold-certified tanneries; where possible, it is vegetable-tanned and developed from existing waste streams. It is not a mass-produced material, but one that develops character and ages beautifully: fashion that evolves with its wearer.
Why HUMANOID chooses TENCEL™
HUMANOID chooses TENCEL™ because of its low environmental impact and innovative production process. The fibre is made from wood pulp from responsibly managed forests and produced using a closed-loop system in which water and solvents are largely reused. TENCEL™ feels silky soft, is strong, breathable and comfortable on the skin, and lasts a long time with proper care.
Why HUMANOID chooses organic cotton
HUMANOID chooses organic cotton because of its lower impact on people and the environment, without compromising on quality and comfort. Compared to conventional cotton, organic cotton uses up to 36% less water and has approximately 29% lower CO₂ emissions during cultivation and processing. The cotton used is GOTS certified, which ensures traceability and stricter social and environmental standards within the chain. In this way, HUMANOID remains true to natural materials, timeless quality and a conscious way of producing.

30+ YEARS OF PARTNERSHIPS
We greatly value long-term relationships with our suppliers. Transparency, quality and mutual trust form the basis of our supply chain. We choose partners who share our vision of care and work with local artisans wherever possible. Some of these partnerships have been in place for over 30 years.
100% of our production takes place within Europe. By producing in Europe, we maintain short lines of communication, optimal quality control and proximity. Our certified production facilities comply with European legislation on environmental and working conditions and are regularly inspected. Together, we are continuously working to ensure a socially responsible and environmentally conscious supply chain.
In addition, we work closely with local artisans in Europe. We also maintain long-term partnerships with factories, such as a women-run factory in Lithuania and a family-owned factory in Romania. These long-term partnerships guarantee craftsmanship, careful finishing and a strong commitment to the manufacturing process. Always with respect for people and the environment.

USE EVERYTHING, WASTE NOTHING
HUMANOID consciously works to reduce waste within the company. Waste is one of the biggest polluters in the fashion industry and cannot be ignored. That is why we give existing materials a second life.
Currently, approximately 20% of our collection consists of leftover fabrics: HUMANOID fabrics that would otherwise remain unused — a figure we aim to grow to 40% in future collections.
Twice a year, we launch a capsule collection: a limited line in which all components, from fabric to zips and buttons, are made from residual materials.
By transforming leftover materials into lasting designs, we extend the life of materials and reduce our impact. Step by step, and with care. If you have or are looking for unused fabrics or ideas for materials we could use, we’d love to hear from you. HUMANOID is happy to give dead stock a second life.

YOUR IMPACT
As a community, HUMANOID invites you to care consciously. Our pieces are designed to last, and their longevity depends on how they are worn and cared for. By taking care of the garments, their life can be extended and we can reduce our collective impact. Let’s take responsibility together.
